Luke 9:46-48    “And an argument arose among them as to which of them was the greatest. But when Jesus perceived the thought of their hearts, he took a child and put him by his side, and said to them, “Whoever receives this child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me receives him who sent me; for he who is least among you all is the one who is great.””

This teaching by Jesus, goes against our natural inclinations.  It requires faith that Jesus is correct in this.  It requires a change in heart to treat others as more important than ourselves.  It requires trust in God that he will take care of us as we sacrifice for others. 

Dear God, please change our hearts to love others as You instruct us, and to trust in Your care for us.  Amen.
