Unless I ‘ve missed another time, in the book of Luke, this is the first quotation of Jesus as a grown man.  The very first quotation of Jesus in the book of Luke was His response to His parents when He was 12 years old and they found Him in the Temple.  

Luke 4:1-4  “And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led by the Spirit for forty days in the wilderness, tempted by the devil. And he ate nothing in those days; and when they were ended, he was hungry. The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.” And Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone.’ ””

Jesus is quoting the instructions of Moses to the Israelites before they entered the Promised land: 

Deuteronomy 8:3 “And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know; that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but that man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord.”
