Luke 16:10-13  ““He who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much; and he who is dishonest in a very little is dishonest also in much. If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will entrust to you the true riches? And if you have not been faithful in that which is another's, who will give you that which is your own? No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.””

 RSV

Once again, Jesus is requiring our allegiance to Him, our allegiance to only Him.  But of course, He is worth our sole allegiance, and it is to our benefit to follow only Jesus.  He said: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”    (John 10:10-11 RSV)

Thank you, Jesus!  Thank you, dear Heavenly Father. Thank you, dear Holy Spirit. Amen
