Matthew 5:11-12 RSV “Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so men persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

When we love someone, we stick with them in spite of those who hate them. So it is with our love for Jesus. We stay faithful to Him in spite of His enemies attacks on us. 

He is the source of all that is good and lasting. We see an end to the attacks at the end of our earthly lives, and we have the promise of God’s goodness through eternity.
