Today’s portion of the Scriptures is:

Luke 4:9-13    “And he took him to Jerusalem, and set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here; for it is written, ‘He will give his angels charge of you, to guard you,’ and ‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.’ ” And Jesus answered him, “It is said, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ” And when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from him until an opportune time.”

 RSV

Jesus quoted again from Deuteronomy.: Deuteronomy 6:16  ““You shall not put the Lord your God to the test, as you tested him at Massah.”   RSV

Don’t put Him to the test, but seek Him and walk with Him. :

Psalms 34:6-10.  “This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them. O taste and see that the Lord is good! Happy is the man who takes refuge in him! O fear the Lord, you his saints, for those who fear him have no want! The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.”    RSV

Does fear of the Lord equal, or at least include worship?

May God bless you with the desire to seek Him.
