Luke 11:1-4 “He was praying in a certain place, and when he ceased, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.” And he said to them, “When you pray, say: “Father, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread; and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive every one who is indebted to us; and lead us not into temptation.””
RSV
Here is Luke’s version of the Lord’s Prayer. It is the same as the one in the book of Matthew, but without the phrases: “And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil.”(RSV). One could make a case that those two phrase are included in the request that God’s Kingdom would come to earth. In fact, think about, pray about what would it be like to have God’s kingdom here on earth? What would it be like to have God’s Kingdom in your life, in my life, in our lives?
God, please bless us with Your kingdom in our lives. Amen.
