Luke 14:12-14   “He said also to the man who had invited him, “When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your kinsmen or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return, and you be repaid. But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. You will be repaid at the resurrection of the just.””

This is challenging teaching.  There are groups, like Rescue Missions, and the Salvation Army that do this, giving feasts for the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind. There is even an individual that does this through his organization “My Father’s Kitchen”.  I don’t believe I know of other individuals who are doing this.  Should we be working to follow this teaching? 

Dear Heavenly Father, help us to know how you want us to follow this teaching of Jesus.  Please strengthen us to do your will.  Amen.
