Words of Jesus: Monday, April 13, 2026

Luke 12:13-15    “One of the multitude said to him, “Teacher, bid my brother divide the inheritance with me.” But he said to him, “Man, who made me a judge or divider over you?” And he said to them, “Take heed, and beware of all covetousness; for a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.””

This man seems to feel cheated by his brother and wanted Jesus to intervene.  Jesus did not intervene, but warns the man and all who were listening to be concerned about coveting, because our lives are not made of many possessions.  So what are our lives made of?: Jesus just told us in His preceding teachings.    

Dear God, please help us to seek You first and rely on You to supply our spiritual and physical needs.  Amen.
