Luke 22:14-16   “When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles reclined at the table. And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God.””      NIV

Jesus “eagerly desired” to eat the Passover with His Disciples, even though He knew it was a prelude to His suffering and crucifixion.  Remarkable!  The only explanation given us, is that He will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God.””  It seems like Jesus’ is focusing past His crucifixion, to the benefits resulting from it, and from His resurrection.  As it says in the book of Hebrews:

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”    Hebrews 12:1-3 NIV
